This was a pretty good MC book. New to me authors, and MC books aren't typically my thing, but I enjoyed the story overall. It definitely left me wanting more of the story, which is unfortunate since I don't see the next book on either of the authors pages, so I hope its in the works! I liked how well Cindy/Callie was written, she's been through so much, she deserves a happy ever after with Kai. It was a really fast paced and action packed story, plenty of suspense and love to keep you turning the pages!

Cindy is married to Randall who uses her more as a punching bag than anything else but finally one night she is saved by her neighbor, Mr. Burke, and she is given the opportunity to start over. Cindy moves to Sidney with help from her best friend Missy and becomes Callie Harper.

Malaki is a bartender and the son of the President of the Crude Souls MC, a life he does not want for himself. When he meets Callie and knows he wants to spend more time with her.

But Callie knows that Randall will not give her up easily and will Malaki be able to protect Callie when she needs it the most?

This was a great intro to the series and I can't wait for more books.

I really liked Callie and was terrified for her as I knew Randall and his cop brother Rance would not let her go. I loved that she met Malaki with no pretenses and how protective he was over her.

Malaki was great and I loved how far he went to protect Callie. It was not what he wanted for himself but at the same time he knew that it was the only way he could properly protect her.

I was totally surprised at what happened to the Private Investigator!

The ending was great and definitely leads us into the next book and some tension with the Kings of Destruction MC!
