I like James Patterson but I have never been blown away by him. This book surprised me. I still wasn't blown away but I was surprised. With the amount of pages and how I have felt about Patterson's other books, I was certain that Confessions of a Murder Suspect would drag on for longer than necassary and that I would be a little bored by the end. I ended up really liking the book (though I found the ending slightly predictable) and it didn't drag on nearly as much as I thought it would. It is a very good and quick read that I recommend.

This is not at all what I expected. James Patterson is a highly critically acclaimed author, he is said to be the #1 best selling author of the world selling more than 300 million copies of books. That being said, I was so excited to finally read something written by him. My first James Patterson novel. Guess I was expecting to much....

The characters are bland, Boring, Dull, Flat And quite honestly, annoying. I don't think I liked a single character in the novel, not even our main protagonist. They all seemed snobby, stuck up and just irritating.

The story itself wasn't all that great. The slang used by the characters is outdated, the story as a whole was anticlimactic and right when the story seems to be picking up, the chapter ends and when you flip the page the story just goes flat again.

I was really disappointed in this series and I hope this doesn't mean that Pattersons stories are always so dull, I'm going to give the Maximum Ride series (eventually) a try. Now that I'm not expecting much from Patterson, I just might like it. If not, then that'll be the last James Patterson novel I read.

Started this December 09th, 2012 after a whole day not reading any book!
Read a comment that this will end more or less in a series. Not what I wanted. Not what I want, now that I am 2/3 finished.
Nice twist at the ending.
The idea and the whole structure was ok, but not too gripping, the meandering storytelling did nothing for me and it felt like being written for dumb teenagers, not young adults or even (like me) older adults.
Maybe Patterson should slow down and concentrate more on good content than mass production (in German we say "Masse statt Klasse" for this kind of work).
I will certainly not read the next book in this series (if there is one) anytime soon. Instead I will finish the Maximum Ride-series and read other authors.

Story was pre entertaining, but characters fell flat for me and didn’t like that the narrator kept addressing the audience. Probably would’ve liked this more as a middle schooler.
