I was a bit shocked not to love a book called Hooray for Books!, but, well, so it goes.

Turtle wants to read his favourite book. He has looked all over the place so tries to remember who he last lent it to. From there he finds out his favourite book has been passed on to another friend, who passed it on to another friend, etc.

I really love the illustrations in this book. I wanted to make most of them into wall art. Even though Turtle seemed to transfixed on one goal - finding and reading his favourite book - I appreciated the sentiment. A silly fun book to read!

I definitely prefer "Hooray for Hat!" but Brian Won is so reliable with his artform, that I can't help but love most everything he does. This is a perfect storytime book, especially with a book or reading theme, or to kick off a storytime season, or even for a classroom intro to circle time/storytime. It even ends with such a positive message about storytime.

Won has a wonderful, illustrative style and the repetition will do well in read-aloud circumstances but I just didn't care about Turtle or his missing book.
