A perfectly nice story. A little tedious in the middle but wrapped up nicely. Recommended.

Yep, I loved this book! So much fun to go with Arthur on his journey to unravel the life had lived before they met which leads to an unraveling of the sad, little life he has been living. If you liked The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry and A Man Called Ove, you will enjoy Arthur.

arthur pepper is coming up on the one year anniversary of his wife miriam’s death. he has finally decided to sift through her things when he comes across a gold charm bracelet that belonged to miriam. he’s never seen this bracelet with 8 charms of an elephant, flower, book, paint palette, tiger, thimble, heart, and a ring. upon making a call about one of the charms, the bracelet takes arthur out of his strict routine and on a crazy adventure to make peace with his wife and the past.

cute. not many complaints. it was very hallmark like. i liked the characters but never really felt crazy invested in any of them. predictable but sweet and i’m glad arthur was able to make a change and grow with his children. what i did not see coming was his wife’s crazy past life and i’d be more curious to read a prequel from her perspective (pre death obviously). probably wouldn’t read again but might recommend to someone for a light summer read.
