PS just in case you want to read it, don't buy it it's a short story and you can read a PDF version online for free.
Anyway, I had to read this for English, and even though I was frustrated at the ending first, I've come to really like this short story. It is very thought provoking. We also have to write an alternate ending, and this will probably tell me a lot about myself and my classmates lol.
I would recommend.

Brutal. It's clearly the tiger as she is quasi-barbaric. Her desire will not allow another choice.

The true question is: he knows her heart. Did he accept her choice?

Well, this is such a short story so it's pretty hard to give this more than 3 stars. The ending is up to the reader to decide, I would say, depending on how they feel about the situation - the outcome could go either way especially since you don't know alot about the whole situation, including knowing a lot about the princess.

We read this is school, and had a lively discussion on what came out of the door our hero chose. There is a lot to unpack in this short story, and I still have really good memories of the discussion. Although, I don't remember which class I read this in (assuming English, but which teacher?? I don't recall).
