Fast quick with a great premise and lots of action. Really good hi-lo book for teens (high interest, lower reading level)

I picked this book up because it was shelved in the wrong section. Read the entire thing in one lunch period. Great premise and good writing. I appreciate the narrative style of just thrusting us into the world without large swaths of exposition of HOW this dystopian society ended up exactly here, but at times it felt like the plot and narration jumped from section to section too quickly and it was jarring. My mother issue is the choice to have the father be the narrator in a teen book which may make this more of an adult hi-lo but it was advertised as teen.

Interest/content level grades 9-12.
Reading level: grades 4-8
