Not as funny as some Deadpool volumes are, but the change in tone is a natural aspect of the storyline that this series has been building to. The humor is still there, and the overall plot (with a couple exceptions) is well-told. I'm not sure if/where this series is going next, but I've been generally happy with it after getting past the (very) rough start of the first few volumes.
