C enjoyed this book a lot more than I did. He wanted to read it many times. 3 stars for me, 4 or 5 stars for C.

I remember these books being cute from my childhood. They still are.

What a hysterical book. Good mentor text to use and have student create their own "diary of a..." books after researching an animal or insect.

Worm shares their adventures through their diary. We see them discuss school, friends, and family. I liked the subtle humor in the book the best, such as when they did the hokey-pokey and they could only put their heads in and out. The illustrations are also quite vibrant. Cute.

For: worm fans; readers looking for a humorous book; readers looking for an early diary-format book.

Possible red flags: teasing siblings; fighting with friends.

Read this aloud to my nieces at the StoryWalk at Chestnut Hill Farm. I thought it was very cute!

This is the silliest picture book I have read in a long time. My fiancé and I laughed just as much as our daughter did. Great for both kids and adults alike!

This is a very cute story that is told from a worm's perspective. It goes through the year and explains what worms are doing during that time, but also having them do stuff humans would do; like school.

A bit clever, a bit silly. Really this didn't do all that much for me. The whole story was a stretch. But well written and interesting all the way through. Just not much of a point. 3.5 of 5.
