From looking at the cover, I expected a book that I would discard partway through, not able to stand the selfish jerk of a narrator. Boy was I wrong!
We follow Brett Revere, an 'older' washed up actor who is tired of living paycheck to paycheck, and who is rooming with a nutcase to save on rent. Not wanting to be in the play Andy (a gay musical version of Annie), he decides to launch 'Operation Hamptons.' He goes to a bar and tries to fit in with the rich and the famous, under the guise of a Trust Fund Baby, in order to make connections and eventually be handed his dream job.
Things don't go as planned.
I don't want to spoil it. The ending you can see coming from about half the book on, but it was still a fun journey to get there. I found myself savoring the book, since I have been having problems finding good ones lately.
I definitely recommend this!
