It was nice to be back with the House of Galen and reading about these great gladiator aliens. There was a lot of action in this one but it was more of the intrigue type of action — sneaking into other houses and battling guards instead of Arena action. I would have liked a little more of the Arena as I enjoyed it so much in Gladiator. However, Regan is not a natural born fighter and she doesn’t become a gladiator like Harper, so it’s probably fitting that the action happened in other ways.

I liked Regan (but not as much as Harper) because she’s smart and emotionally strong and she’s tough in a sweeter way. She struggled a bit with the idea that she would never get back to Earth but ultimately she wanted to make a place for herself in the House and feel useful to the group. She doesn’t wallow, even when she believes that Thorin isn’t interested in her.

Thorin himself is a much more “traumatized” hero than Raiden was. He’s very conflicted over his more dangerous side and he lets it hold him back for a lot of the book. Regan and Thorin are a nice contrast, one large, strong, and aggressive and the other small, sweet, and more mild mannered. Regan is by no means a pushover though and she knows when to stand up to Thorin.

We got a brief look into Kace and his love interest, Rory, and it’ll definitely be interesting. I’m also curious to see more of the mysterious Rillian. As a minor note, there are a lot of R names in this book — Regan, Raiden, Rory, Rillian — and I was getting a few mixed up sometimes.

Another great one, smart and feisty heroine and a somewhat angsty gladiator.

Warrior is book two in the Galactic Gladiators series by Anna Hackett.

Hackett is an amazing science fiction romance author. I feel in love with this series and devoured it one book after another. Warrior captivated me from beginning to end.

House of Galen is the home of the biggest and baddest gladiators in the galaxy.

Regan is another human women who was abducted by alien slavers and transported to the other side of the galaxy. She is rescued by her friend from book one, Harper. Here we see that Regan is trying to find her place in this new world. She’s not a warrior, but she is good with plants. I was over the moon that the author gave us a heroine who uses her brains and not her brawn. Regan plays to her strengths and although she is devastated at her abduction, she doesn't just sit in a corner and give up.

Thorin is a Sirrush warrior. They have very good vision, hearing, and sense of smell. He’s also a dangerous weapon that even his family fears. He ends up in the arena and attached to the House of Galen, as a Gladiator. He’s not sure what to make of this small women from earth who is turning him upside down. He feels he doesn’t deserve a woman like her. Thorin is a more complicated hero and I adored him and his struggle with his other nature.

Here we get to see less of the Gladiator arena and much more of the world surrounding it. As we see more of Kor Magna, we see that slavery is rife on this plant and we are introduced to more vile aliens and also along the way some allies.

The author flushed out the supporting characters; which made the storyline interesting. Besides flushing things out we are on the look out for more human women that have been abducted. I like the direction the author is taking.

The romance I adored. We see a very strong chemistry between Regan and Thorin, but it's not as straightforward as some relationships.

Warrior was another fabulous read in the Galactic Gladiators series. I loved Thorin and Regan’s story. Enjoyed the plot-line and meeting the secondary characters.

This was fine - pretty much exactly what one expects from one of those human-lady/alien-dude books - the heroine is a nebulous scientist, the hero is wildly protective, the heroine puts herself in danger stupidly on multiple occasions, etc. Nothing special but not absolutely terrible, either.

Thorin is adorable. I wanted to just give him a hug. I loved how protective he was. Reagan was a great character too. I loved their story.

Imagining this dude as The Mountain if he could turn into a dragon.

I liked this one better than the first one.

I like that the male is a little more alien than the first book's hero was, but I wish we could have seen him fully transformed more often. I felt like the mystery of his background took forever to reveal, and then we barely saw it.

The actions of both the characters were frustrating at times, but I couldn't help but root for them. I'm a sucker for a tough guy who thinks he doesn't deserve the sweet woman.

Still not as much fun as Eon, but I do enjoy a "here's a group of alphas, now watch them fall in love!" setup. I liked Regan not being a badass warrior, but using her smarts to be productive, and the relationship with Thorin was sweet. Looking forward to bingeing my way through this series before I cancel my KU subscription.
