I think I would have enjoyed this book a lot more, seen it as more innovative, perhaps been surprised by the ending, had I read it in high school or college. Still worth reading, and I'm very conscious that my lack of surprise could be because this book was the first to do things this way, and I've just had decades of subsequent literature between me and it.
