Magic midwives and monster babies.

Interesting premise but there was a lack of intrigue and the slow pace made it a bit ho hum.

Some wonderful imagery and fun scene setting, but lacking in substance. Choppy pacing, flat characters, predictable plot. Nothing like a climactic confrontation that goes "no, stop, this is evil" "ok"

I found this to be a wonderfully paced short story, it wrapped up well and was engaging the whole time. The main character is great, and the setting makes this a great mix of historical fiction with splashes of horror and fantasy mixed in. Highly recommend for a short sweet read.

Nice novella but doesn't really seem to break any new ground. Wasn't particularly compelling to read and the resolution felt preordained. I did like the feeling like everyone was out to use Sarah. There isn't a single good person in a position of power

Would have liked it to be longer honestly, as it would have been nice to go into more detail in various aspects. Rather built an interesting world but I was left wanting.
