I just didn't really get into this one.
The writing style did not really fit the story in my eyes. It's written very easy - like a book for 10 year olds. But the first scene is the funeral of both Travis parents, and later on we get war crimes and interrogation techniques as a topic, so it's definitely a YA book.
And I just didn't warm up to Travis. He was a bit perfect, and didn't have a lot of character depth. It kinda seemed like he takes all in stride.
I must confess I didn't finish the book. About 3/4 through I put it aside for another, planning on finishing it later, but I was never interested enough, to be bothered to pick it up again.
Sad - since I really enjoyed most of Brooks books so far.

Enjoyed this a lot! A teenaged investigator encounters conspiracies and cover-ups in a twisty adventure enhanced by themes of identity, family and morality. Who wouldn't like that? :)
