Melodramatic, boring, annoying. It was so hard to tell who’s who listening to the book. Parker and Ivan are the most boring mc’s! I liked the concept but this was not done well

Audible Version

Tristan James is an awesome narrator.

This book though was not nearly as good as book 1 or book 3. Too much angst without the equal amount of payoff. I liked Ivan and Parker I just didn't like the execution of the storyline.

Good follow up to Cop Out. Ivan heads undercover after a traumatic case is closed. He is investigating suspected drug dealer Parker so moves in as his room mate. The plot was a little formulaic, Ivan's undercover sleuthing skills leave a lot to be desired and I picked the bad guy early on. However, there is something very likable about Parker and how his feelings for Ivan develop. 3.5 stars.

I liked this one more than I was expecting too, but I could have done with a little more romance in my romance novel. Also, Ivan's a pretty terrible cop. Just sayin'.

I actually like these two and the obvious wrongness of Ivan's investigation. He figures this out but not pinpointing the obvious bad guy was an issue. Still I can see Parker not trusting and reacting the way he did except
Spoiler he was having issues with his boyhood "friend". Trust issues, now he should have them with both guys, yes. But taking a moment to really see what is going on.
I actually liked this one a bit more than the first (unlike many of my friends) because I felt for Parker who was being manipulated on both sides even though one side was not trying to screw him over. Still he was deceived so how do you get over that? I liked the twists, seeing Davy and Kurt from the first book and knowing that Kurt's brother is next. I will be reading on.

Worst. Detective. Ever. I saw from a mile away that
SpoilerIvan's boss was lying and putting him in danger (Ivan had just shot and killed an armed suspect hours before his boss sent him undercover without back-up, defense, or resources) and that Parker was being set up by his friend (while not completely TSTL Parker's pretty close)
There's only a 12 year age difference (34/22), but a large difference in experience.

This is book two of a series of three but capable of being read as a standalone.
This is the story of Ivan, a police man (common theme) in Toronto and Parker. They meet when Ivan has to become Parker's straight roommate in a bogus undercover op.
It did take me at least a third of the book to get hooked into the story and so, of the three, the one I enjoyed least - still liked it though and liked the series too

Just couldn't get into the story. Found the plot line a bit unbelievable and didn't really feel the attraction between Ivan and Parker. A series I'm not worried about finishing.
