This book is an exploration of immigration in all forms. Metres examines his family’s history of immigration and exile, as well as the immigrations of other people and communities. The book references family history, government documents, photographs, interviews, and contemporary news headlines to create a new, honest, and humane archive of what it means to be an immigrant, a refugee, a person moving across borders.

Beautiful and sonic language, incredible formal inventions, and a genuinely compassionate and inquisitive project about immigration.
