The ending wasn't as satisfying as I would have liked, but it did fit the story.

such a good conclusion to this series,
most importantly because of the hope for the dragons. and I am super glad the book took its time to resolve so many little open things and didn't just end with killing the king
. always loved the inheritance cycle, and rereading it as a grownup just made me realize how much paolini improved as a writer over the course of the four books. he grew alongside eragon and that makes me happy:)

I liked the series. The last couple books there were times that it felt like it went on and on with nothing important and could have been cut down. Though it wasn't terribly boring to even read through those parts. A very typical fantasy read. Even the when I thought it was close to the end it kept going for a bit.

I was so excited for this book to come out. I thought the rest of the series was interesting to read and engaging. However, when I started this one, it started so slow and I kept waiting for the action. Now I am 2/3 the way through the book and I have trouble picking it up to finish. I have a feeling it will just be sitting on the table for awhile. Especially since I have trouble avoiding even mild spoilers. I am a person who has to finish a book no matter how I feel about it though. It might be a long time from now.
UPDATE:
Finally finished this. It ended well but disappointing. Makes me wonder why I even bothered to finish it. The last few chapters seemed unnecessary. A disappointing end to an imaginative series. I'm just glad that I managed to get it checked off my list.
