What I liked most about the book was that the extensive description allowed for a false sense of security. With that much detail, I thought that certainly an observant reader would be able to sift through the novel and weed out any red herrings that may have been dropped, but it has the opposite affect. For the last half of the book, I thought I had figured out all the mysteries Demon’s Kiss had to offer: Who is letting the demons run free with such abandon? Who is the traitor amongst the noble sorcerers? But the revelation at the end shattered any assumptions I had made and left me in awe at the clever tale the author had woven.
