This is one of my favorites in the series. It's fun to watch the prophecy unfold and the various characters coming into their own.
The Fourth book in the Belgariad Series was a page turner. I couldn't put it down. It picks up right where the third left off, and sweeps you up again. I love this series and I can't wait to finish it!
One of the finer books in the series. I love to follow Ce’Nedra’s POV; she is a much more interesting character than Gariad.

Easily the best book in the series so far! It continues to get better as it goes, and although some reveals were very obvious and seen from a mile away, it didn’t detract from my enjoyment.
I wish David Eddings treated his female characters better, though. At this point, that’s the biggest downfall of these books.

Another fun romp through a world of careful detail, sorcerors, and destiny. Like many large and entangled plots, now that the end is drawing near, many things start to make a great deal more sense.
Another delightful, not too intense story. There isn’t quite as much wandering through the world in this book as in the previous books since they spend so much time in Riva/ Again, we learn a bit more of Garion’s role in the Prophecy. I find it interesting that there are conflicting prophecies and not even the Gods know which way everything will end up. Belgarath and Polgara are working hard to make sure life wins instead of death.
Garion is maturing and so is C’nedra. However, Garion is bored with ruling. C’nedra, on the other hand, seems to enjoy playing the political games. Both Polgara and C’nedra have a full-on tantrum when they realize Garion and Belgarath have slipped off. Then C’nedra comes up with a good plan to lead, even without Garion at her side. Next up, the final showdown with Torak.
