Most excellent. As stated, one of my all time favorite series
The second to last book in this series has intrigue, love and surprises. Things just keep happening and makes these books more and more interesting and you want to keep reading more.
Continuing my re-read of this series from my youth and it's still quite enjoyable. I enjoy the fairly simple but straight forward story of Garion and his journey to confront the dark lord in a battle to the death for the fate of the world.
One thing that was a little jarring in this book was Ce'nedra. Man, she does not come off well in 2020. She's written to be very childish and girly and gets away with things just by being cutsie. Still, she does manage to make some strong decisions and gathers the various nations under her banner to form an army so she does show some good growth.
All in all, it still holds up to the nostalgia I have for the series. Looking forward to reading the final book again soon.
