To be honest, I mostly just read this book to finish the series. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure, and they're all so easy to read. But, oh dear lord, they are bad. At least the last few. So much swooning, talking for paragraphs about how "dreamy" (yes, the word "dreamy" is used often to describe Alexander) Raven's "love" is. I'm embarrassed to admit I sought out this book to read.

I mean, I know this isn't quality literature, but I expected a bit more effort than what was in Immortal Hearts. It's just disappointing. The ending is very rushed, hardly giving any closure at all.

If you're reading this just because it's something that will take your mind off other things, then more power to you, but don't expect a satisfying ending or anything redeeming. If you're a fan of the series, the ending is probably what you wished for, but you'll probably be wanting another installment. If there ever is one, I know I won't be reading it.

What... The fuck... Was this?
This... I can't even believe this was the ending of the series. I can't believe what happened to this series.
Alright. It is absolutely clear Schreiber gave the fuck up on this series. Like you could pretty much see that by book 7. But this finale was just.. Garbage. I can only assume her agent or publisher insisted she finish this damn series already just fluff some shit up and put an end to it already and that's exactly what this is.
I thought my love for this series came when my love for vampires was at its highest and this was one of my favorites. Upon rereading the first 6 I had already read though now as an adult, I still loved it. It was cute it was goth it was witty and it was just some well done teenage love story trash. I get why people might dislike it there for that but I enjoyed it, and then the way this ended was just a freaking train wreck.
For the record, absolutely nothing happened in the last 3 books. Literally this whole series could have been over in 4 or 5 books max because of the lack of anything remotely exciting happening in the end. It's just the same recycled plot except new characters thrown in and I'm sorry but once they expected me to show interest in the 12-year-old's love triangles they tried to throw into this already complete cluster fuck of a "he loves her but she loves him and he loves that one and blah blah blah" I was done with all of their love lives. I didn't care.
Spoiler I honestly can't believe this ended with a convenient Ex Machina in the form of a Raven mini me going by Stormy Sterling. That's right our heart throb Alexander had conveniently forgot to ever mention he had a little sister surprisingly the perfect age for Billy Boy to go through puberty on.
Ok but really though this is 75% of this entire books plot. The next 15% come from more annoying ass Maxwell's recycled drama and finally in the end having the most underwhelming "plot twist" to attempt to spice up a conclusion literally every reader has been waiting for since book 1.

Homestly I'm so pissed about this because of how much I loved these books and still love the first 6 but are completely ruined in the end. It breaks my heart to see authors destroy their series like this simply because they need filler content and/or just want to be done with the series they created. Unfortunately, this is a classic case of both.
I could probably rant about this for hours so I'm stopping here.
BUT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE READ AT LEAST THROUGH 6 AND AREN'T SURE IF THEY WANT TO FINISH HERE'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Spoiler yes Alexander finally turns her after once again almost getting knocked off course by the Maxwells and Trevor (the heart throb Raven is secretly in love with) while she's still a junior and kinda nobody gives a fuck she did that sooooooo....

Overall, talk about a painful read.. I would not recommend.

While I was reading the book, I got really into it with all the intensity between Luna and Raven. I actually thought Stormy would actually not like Raven and that Luna was telling Stormy horrible things about Raven. However, when I got to the last few chapters of the book, which I knew they would be about whether or not Raven was going to be turned by Alexander, it felt rushed to me and some things were left unclear, like what did Alexander and Raven tell Sebastian about Phoenix, how did Henry find out about the vampire secret and how did they all know about Alexander and Raven's covenant ceremony. I felt like the series could have been drawn out more at least the last book. I am definitely going to be missing this series since I started this in high school. It was a really good journey :)

The last book in the Vampire Kisses series was not just the perfect ending to the perfect story, but it was also the beginning to Raven's life as a vampire.

“I will love you for all of eternity.” – Alexander Sterling

For Raven Madison, life in Dullesville is almost perfect. She is dating the vampire of her dreams; the incredibly handsome Alexander Sterling has fabulous Underworldly friends and has a sensational nightclub to dance in until dawn. The only thing missing is the fact that Alexander has yet to make Raven a vampire. Alexander’s best friend Sebastian has recently dodged Luna Maxwell’s clutches when she attempted to trick him into a commitment ceremony. Raven’s vampire friends, Scarlet and Onyx, have their sights set on guys, including Raven’s arch nemesis, Trevor Mitchell. Even though she isn’t interested I Trevor, Raven is still uneasy about him possibly dating a vampire. To top off everything, Raven’s best friend, Becky Miller, discovered he truth about vampires living in Dullesville and is slowly accepting it.

Now that life is somewhat perfect for Raven, she and Alexander are awaiting the arrival of his younger sister, Athena “Stormy” Sterling. For Raven, she is excited to finally meet her and see what being a vampire is really like. On the other hand, she is terrified that Stormy will not be accepting of her. Will Raven and Stormy hit it off or will they be at adds, with Alexander caught in the middle?
In this final chapter in the Vampire Kisses saga, will Raven’s dreams of becoming a vampire and being Alexander’s for all eternity come true or will she decide that giving up her humanity isn’t worth it?

This book has so many plot lines going in it… and all have no meaning or purpose. The whole series after book 4 has no direction really. It is nice and cute for a slice of life kind of feel, but it wasn’t really set up that way, so its a bit disappointing… Weird and terrible ending completely unrelated to the entire book itself. A lot of plot holes as well. Climax is built and resolved about a paragraph later and all is soon forgotten. 1-4 were cute for a YA book as an adult re-reading for nostalgia. But 5-9 are just a lot of nothing.

I started reading this series when I was a young, unpopular, monster girl myself. I decided, now that I’m a monster woman, to reread the series and finish up the books that came out after I had graduated out of this reading level.

That being said, the nostalgia alone is what has given these books such high ratings thus far. However, the constant dream sequences of previous books lead me to believe this one, which slipped into wild and unexpected tangential scenes, would contain them as well. Only to find out that no wild dream sequences were happening, making the plot unnecessarily unrealistic and dramatic.

I am utterly disappointed by the way the book ends, and found it hard to believe that everyone just showed up for the covenant ceremony without specific characters, who don’t know about the vampire verse, were just okay with what was happening and that no one helped fend of the sexual advances of the series most rape-y character during a most vital scene.

I have other thoughts and complaints, but would rather keep this short(ish).

There wasn't anything to grab my attention in this book. The writing was poor. I skim read through most of it, guessing correctly what was going to happen. Half the book was simply a repeat of Raven explaining to Becky about vampires and then to Billy about the exact same thing. She had no concept of how her life would change and did not even seem to care. The ending was completely ridiculous. And there were so many unanswered questions. I'm not quite sure how the series lasted as long as it did, but I can say that I am quite glad they did not try to drag it out any longer with a 10th book. I finished simply because I had read the previous ones in the series, but I got no enjoyment out of it and honestly should have just skipped to the end, read the ending I knew was going to happen and moved on with my life from there.
