A very easy read and a fairly decent ending. I have found the Powder mage trilogy to be fairly basic in writing style which usually isn’t my thing but, the book kept me engrossed with its fast paced style and I smashed it out fairly quickly. That’s saying something.

There were a few editing errors where an incorrect characters name was used but, that’s on Orbit to get it fixed. Noticeable though.

Once again I find it unique to have two different types of magic, that’s quite cool. I also enjoy the fact that magic can be all destructive, not just a little fireball slung here and there, we’re talking grand scale destruction type spells.

Looking forward to the next trilogy and to see how McCellan develops as an author. Definitely on the better quality scale of a lot of fantasy authors and recommended for other fans of fantasy novels to check out.

This was a fantastic ending to the series. I cried at a couple parts, and thoroughly enjoyed the read. McClellan is a great author.

This was an alright series. Star characters by a lot was ka-poel and Taniel, but I enjoyed the whole cast. Nila getting random magic halfway through the last book in the series felt weird, especially since it was never justified or explained. I appreciate how morally grey this book lets itself be at times also. The conclusion, including the final battle, felt rushed, with the killing of two gods here happening almost faster than the bullet to kresimir's head at the end of book one. But I loved the way that there are still loose ends afterward: this is just a chunk of a larger, messier story.
