Suspense doesn't cover it, fast paced, character driven, horrific and funny in places. The fantastic characterisation makes it even more of a page turner.
Fist pumps, laughs and tears for the good guys, horrific fascination for baddies you'll love to hate. This works as a standalone, you don't have to have read the first story to fully appreciate this one, but the door is left open for a sequel.
