Dnf! It’s unfair to rate a book I haven’t finished (20% before I gave up) but I wanted to document my thoughts.
There was nothing compelling about this, neither the plot nor characterisation and definitely not the writing.
What really made me give up is this exchange between Galen and Lyra, when they are reunited after, I believe, six months of no contact? >>
"She's beautiful," he said, inspecting her face. "Her eyes have changed color."
Lyra nodded. "They're sort of flecked."
"Stardust," Galen said. "That's what's in her eyes.
