It’s exactly what you expect of a Star Wars novel: fun, fast-moving, world building. It’s also exactly what you’d expect from Rogue One: all the cool intergalactic war-and-politics with none of the main character dramatic camp. Highly recommend for fun reading, vacations, etc.
Cool set up for Rogue One.
It is interesting to meet some of the new characters and see their relationships.

This book is heavy on plot with very little time devoted to character development. I don't think it gives much insight into the movie either. I'd say skip it.

A worthy prequel to a worthy prequel. Should be read along with watching Andor and Rogue One.
Loved the insight to some Rogue One characters. Very character heavy, plot doesnt matter so much since we already know how it all ends up.
for some reason after 40 years i have become a star wars fanboy hoovering up any content before the next movie. even though this book is pretty cheesy and written for a YA audience it's plot a pacing are still pretty engaging although i wish it were a bit smarter. most of the character motivations were pretty superficial which leads to the bad guys doing a lot of "mustache twirling". since i have never really paid attention to anything but the original movies it is great to start to understand a bit of the backstory through this book
A great companion piece (and extended crawl text) for Rogue One. Enhances the story of the film but it's not without flaws. Gets five stars as a Star Wars story, but only three stars as an overall work (felt rushed in places, and had typos) so I've split the difference.
