3.5 stars! This is a great dark and stormy night novel that keeps you wanting to know what’s around the next corner. Lies. Murder. Corrupted wealth. Affairs. Open this book and escape into the seedy side of Paris. I highly recommend the audiobook because it is read by multiple cast members and is super well done. Perhaps my rating would be higher if I had actually liked one of the characters. I wouldn’t want to know a single character in this book so thankfully they are confined to the pages.

finally catching up on my book club reads! this book had me hooked!!! didn’t care for the many many chapters though. seriously must have been ~50-60 chapters for a 300 page book just felt excessive.

4-4.5⭐

I went into this book with low expectations because the last two Lucy Foley books I read, I barely enjoyed. There are always too many characters to remember and they are just very slow moving, boring books.

I can see how some would say this is a slow book as well but for some reason I stayed intrigued. The story itself was just so good! There were moments I was bored and skimmed a bit but overall it was a very entertaining book to read!

And that twist at the end *chef's kiss*.
