Ugh! Adding this one to the very short list of "books I could not finish". I can't stand books that feature Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters. This one definitely falls into that category. It was my first Cussler novel, so I suspect I won't be giving any more of his books a try.

This is the second and last Kurt Austin character book I've read and will ever read again. I know this is written with another author and this character series is nothing like the Dirk Pitt character series which I really enjoyed. Gave it 1 star only because I finished it, but I'm not sure why.

I can't tell if Cussler has run it's course or if the Kurt Austin series has run it's course. The more Cussler/Kurt Austin books I read, the less entertaining they've become. Lots of minutae, cookie cutter characters, same plot different setting, blurring the lines of reality, etc. They just keep getting worse.

This book lost me when Kurt Austin drove a submersible in an underground tunnel of gushing ice melt underneath a glacier while somehow cutting through 12 columns in order to save a handful of researchers (including a woman Kurt fell in love with just hours ago) caught in a glacier observatory 800 feet below the ice with a dead body encrusted in the ice after a Frenchman had stolen a historic valuable from the research facility.

Yeah, just way over the top and nonsensical.

Prima avventura di Cussler che leggo fuori della saga di Dirk Pitt.

Sembra la continuazione dell'Isola del dottor Moreau!
Comunque interessante la cattiva di turno, una specie di Crudelia Demon.

Fast paced and action packed. But expect nothing more than that. It is neither well researched nor well written. Illogical in many places.

I have read before, a good read typical Cussler story, non stop action.

This was another typical Clive Cussler novel featuring Kurt and Joe. Clive has a great template for the books and he does a good job of keeping the action moving during the entire story.

Lost City by Clive Cussler

I'm a massive fan of Clive Cussler and all his works, especially Dirk Pitt, Kurt Austin and the new Isaac Bell stories. As expected, Lost City is a great addition to the collection. The story features Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala, a recent addition to Cussler's world. It's classic Cussler, spans over years and is full of action and adventure.
