This was a really interesting collection, linked by nothing but the fact they’re translated from Chinese and set in Beijing. We have a mix of genres, though largely literary, with some sci-fi, speculative, and horror in there too.

A couple were a bit of a miss for me, but overall I really enjoyed these. They were equal parts entertaining and informative and showed some interesting aspects of Chinese culture.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the publisher. This is my honest review.
