This books prose was absolutely mesmerizing. It took me a long while to be wrapped up in the story- which might have been in part due to the Audio Book format I chose to listen to it in. The acting in the Audio book felt authentic, and I really appreciated it. It felt like a bit of an abrupt stop- the story arches I most was interested in, her romance/career, didn't feel as wrapped up as I'd like. But this book is the definition of "you need to enjoy the journey not the destination." Go into this book expecting to spend time to listen. It's a heavy read, make sure to spend time with that. But it's beautiful, and worth it.

Amina's relationship with her brother, and the grief her family experienced felt extremely accurate. It really made me analyze how my family evaluates their own grief. How they individually haven't healed by traumatic events. I think a lot of people would approach the book the same.
