The edition I have is a lot older than the one pictured. That being said, I’m not sure if the stories have been updated or not. The reading is appropriate for first grade reading (since its primary function is as a textbook), but the stories can be slanted heavily in their morals & slightly confusing politics with a Scripture-based approach. However, some of the stories (like the one about Moses) offer creative dialogue without entirely removing the truth of the situation/historical account.
