The Mermaid and the Unicorns by L.T. Getty is a middle-grade fantasy tale that should appeal to all readers.
Daphne is a mermaid with a jealousy problem. She becomes so overcome with her envy that she make a deal with the dreaded sea witch.
Opening with tones of The Little Mermaid, this book soon comes into its own with fantasy, adventure, and of course a few lessons for every reader.
While there were a few slow section, overall the book has a nice pace suitable for the target reader.
I think the story has a great message and recommend it for lovers of middle-grade fantasy and adventure tales.
It would make a lovely gift for a 10-13 year old or to donate to your local library.
