Murphy was a great read. I enjoyed it even more than the first book [b:Sarge|23305626|Sarge (F.I.S.T.S. #1)|Bey Deckard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1412531494l/23305626._SY75_.jpg|42860704]. Murphy and Sarge's d/s relationship dynamic was perfect, and I know this book came out in 2015 but I'm hoping for another book with them.

Also the scifi setting and the plot was really interesting. For such a short page count, it managed to pack in a lot in and do it well.

Pretty good for a scifi erotica in a Dom/sub story. This is male centric without many feelings being talked about though they kind of slap them upside the head in the end. Not BDSM just the DS though I don't think that Murphy would mind being tied up, and there is spanking (maybe that was the last one). It is short so we don't get into the why of this relationship, why is Murphy so submissive, why does he choose Sarge. He just does. We do get a war that has been going on too long and is controlled by the corporation. So this follows the last story and really they should be read together but since there is just an on going war, there is no real cliffhanger or non-ending. This one gets a little more emotional now that Sarge realizes this is more than just letting off steam but something he hopes will continue and hopes Murphy will want to continue. There is a little paranormal in here as Murphy sees things others don't, like auras, or movements. He can see emotions as color, but he also sees flashes of movement that others don't. This is important as the mission proceeds though it might have been better if he didn't have this ability. They are searching for an enemy base on a spongy, forested planet. Sarge's team is being led by a officer that no one trusts. This back story was good for explaining a bit of the why of the relationship. It shows the life in which they are enmeshed. It is way in the future and the m/m aspect is not looked upon as an issue, the fact that it is a dom/sub relationship and on top of that with this giant of a man submitting is the social stigma for Murphy. It doesn't really go anywhere bad but it also shows that others are always going to judge each other.

Read the 2 together, unless you didn't like the first. The second was better IMO as the two came more together in understanding.

Wholly aside from the fact that wars are stupid and space wars would be prohibitively expensive and thus stupider, I enjoyed part two almost as much as part 1.

A solid conclusion to the duo of novellas (although I'd totally read more about these guys.) The author has the ability to make love between two very inarticulate and gruff men shine through without words. And the SciFi plot was effective and not without bearing on modern life. Well done.

Lovely continuation of Sarge but it moved along the same lines when it came to smexyness levels. I do prefer that cover than the new of Sarge.

The ending was a bit more HFN than HEA but the feels even for a HFN were good.

You know, people who think they've got the dynamic between me and Murph pegged... Well, they don't know they got it backwards

Simply gorgeous follow up to Sarge as the two men become even more entwined in their beautiful kinky romance.
