I don't know how many people actually read these reviews, or if those that do read them remember a book by Robin Cook called "Coma." If you do, dear reader, you might remember that it came out in the 1970s and was later turned into a thriller with Genevieve Bujold and Michael Douglas. It focuses the illegal harvesting of organs by a hospital who really should know better.
Anyone who has read that book and "Harvest" by Tess Gerritsen will be struck by the similarities between the two books. I've been told that Gerritsen is a cracking author who knows how to write page turners, but having read both books, trust me when I say that Cook's is better.

Artfully written and a masterclass in writing suspense and making your audience nauseous. Definitely wanted to throw myself off the Tobin Bridge.
Graphic: Child abuse
Minor: Sexual violence and Child death

Somehow I'd never read anything by this author. This is OLD, but a friend recently recommended her newest one, so I thought I'd try this first. Fast read, overly dramatic, but good.

I got this book from my mom years ago. Sadly, thrillers are not my genre and I get squeamish over medical/surgery descriptions. So this was not a book I would have picked out. It was entertaining enough though. The first 100 pages were too slow for my taste, and the ending too predictable.

This is a nice, fast-paced medical thriller, with a very likeable main character (Abby) who is trying to fight against a whole team of unscrupulous doctors dealing in illegal transplants. Quite predictable, but enjoyable nevertheless. I love Tess Gerritsen's writing and most of her books are quite a treat, even despite the overall repetitiveness, as it is the case with thrillers, both medical and not.

Multiple perspectives that tie together in one of my favorite twists ever read.
