All of the female characters had a bad case of women written by men syndrome, even in the short amount of time I spent reading the book. I got nearly a quarter way through and every character felt so wooden, in addition to a random acephobic comment thrown in, so I just decided to give up.

A easy to read, fun slasher! Paced just like a horror movie. We start with a scare and move on to a new group about to have a bad time. The killer is built with trauma, some un-natural traits and it's mysteries. The "victims" are not developed much and make "dumb" decisions that will frustrate you, but some are kind folk I would have liked to spend more time with. I do think a bit of the supernatural talk was not needed, but did not bother. The setting is great as we are in the fresh and green woods that is suddenly very scary to move around. And of course, you got gory kills! Ready for the sequel!

Not one I would easily recommend, mostly due to the fact that I get the feeling other people would be very unsatisfied with the amount of things left unresolved and what little explanation we get for a lot of the content within by the end of the book. All I can say for now is that I really hope the author releases another installment in the story of this particular slasher, and I think fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th franchises will enjoy this one.
