I'm almost crying with hysteria.
I am deathly phobic when it comes to tarantulas and when I realized exactly what I was reading, it was just... Eugh. Creepy-crawly feeling all over.
I salute you, Ms. Lukavics. You have managed to tap into the one thing that is guaranteed to turn me into a panic-induced mess, and you did it well.
(And also thank you thank you thank you thank you for not including any ACTUAL pictures of tarantulas in this story- idk if the cover has the faint silhouette of one but it's not obvious, so I'm not screaming and panicking, and I thank you for that.)
EDIT: In case I haven't communicated this clearly, this was an EXCELLENT story. It just made me wildly uncomfortable in a way most horror stories don't. THAT'S A GOOD THING.
