This is my niece's book which I read when I was staying at her house and also in her room, as she'd been booted out to make way for her sainted aunt. This was essentially a book about highschool except with mice instead of humans. The mice have flowing locks! There are mean girl mice, and a mouse boy band! It was OK, there's something about a music competition there, and the mean people get their comeuppance. My niece liked it better than the Geronimo Stilton book she also had by her bed. Shall we say, "mostly harmless"?

My copy: actually my niece's copy, I believe it was borrowed from the library.

A Song for Thea Sisters is a well-drawn graphic novel aimed at middle-grade readers. It is the seventh in a series but stands alone fairly well. I imagine you'd get more from it if you understood how the Thea Sisters got to where they were, or even which one was which, but it's not necessary.

A Song for Thea Sisters tells a simple story with themes of working together, overcoming obstacles, and shows how it's good to be unselfish. It's an entertaining and easy read that even my 8-year-old enjoyed. At 56 pages, it is short enough to suit the attention span of the intended age range.

Neither of us (kiddo or I) are rabid fans after reading A Song for Thea Sisters, but we'd pick up another book if we saw it at the library. In the meantime, though, we're more inclined to stick with the Geronimo Stilton series.
