What a journey!
This books is really fast-paced and intense, it really brings you on an adventure with feisty characters, dangerous missions and love-drama.
Cross’ style of writing is really intriguing and her quick writing style makes the book really easy to get into. The fact that “Baby one last time” starts with a bang might not be for everyone but I loved that you immediately got sucked into the book & that you got more information about characters and things that had happened as you continued reading. It was a bit hard to understand what had happened prior the book BUT things got sorted out quite quickly.
I have to be honest and say that I wish that the book would’ve focused a bit more on the mission and HEAT, it seemed to be an interesting mission and the dynamic in the group was really interesting. Therefor I would have liked to see more of it.
I also would have liked the book more if Cynthia’s and Derek’s first meeting would’ve been in this book. I know that there’s a prequel but it would’ve made a lot of sense it that was included in this book. I feel like that would’ve made the reader root for Cynthia & Derek more from the very beginning?
All in all this was a good read and a page-turner. I will make sure to check out more of Cross’ work!
