For fans of the "39 Clues" wanting to learn a bit more. Interesting painted fabric illustrations

Biography of Mozart's lesser known sister, Maria, the first musical genius child of the family. Originally, she toured with her brother, before they got a little older and societal rules made his fame eclipse hers. Sad & beautiful.

Beautifully told with each section corresponding to a part of a sonata.

I liked the format of the book and loved the illustrations of collage, fabric, sheet music...The story is good but depressingly realistic about what happened to a girl with talent. Her enduring love of music keeps it going though.

Gorgeously illustrated biography of Wolfgang Mozart's older sister Maria. I loved the illustrations, which incorporate collaged sheet music (by Mozart of course) and brocade/tapestry-like fabrics that match the clothing of the time. I didn't know anything about Maria Anna Mozart, so the story was fascinating. Also liked the section headings that were in musical terms ("Crescendo" etc).

In my years of musical education, I was not aware that Mozart had a sister, or that she was as gifted musically as he was. I enjoyed this story of what her life was like.
