Jumped straight into book two of Fiona Cummins The Bone Collector series and it did not disappoint. Some things that were left hanging in book one were wrapped up and some new endings were left open. There is space for a third book which I would enjoy but it could be left as is as well.
Jakey was back in this book and he was a true legend I loved that kid. The tension had also completely returned with the ending being very satisfying.

Book 2 of the Collector series. Det. Sgt. Etta Fitzroy is still chasing Brian Howley who is The Bone Collector. He is fascinated with people who have body deformities. After kidnapping Clara and Jakey in book 1, Jakey has been rescued, but Howley escaped. Now Etta is chasing him again, knowing he must be near. Another person is captured, and a young boy, Saul, is lured in by Mr. Silver, the alias the collector is using.
Saul is escaping a bad home situation, and is captivated by Mr. Silver's paternal care for him. Yet, he is hesitant of forming a bond with this man. He agrees to help bring Jakey to Mr. Silver, but what do they have planned.
Creepy story!

Wasn't *quite* as strong for me as the first book, but it was great nonetheless. I love that Fiona Cummins doesn't rely on a huge twist or keeping us in the dark to suddenly reveal something surprising to make her books good. She just develops tension and trusts that what she's writing is intriguing enough. And it is.
