This isn't my usual fare (I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, and I'm also not really a fan of weird body horror type art styles), but for whatever reason, this series has really pulled me in! I'm excited to read more and see where the story goes.

This was the first graphic novel that I have ever picked up. I am not 100% into sci-fi novels or movies but this one I really enjoyed, the images and the narratives were great! This encourages me to read the rest of the series as well as other graphic novels in the future.

Saga was a recommendation from my comic shop owner, and it is a mixed bag. Told from the limited perspective of Hazel, beginning on the day of her birth, it is a tale of star-crossed lovers (their races are opposing factions of a war that has encompassed a galaxy and trailed much devastation in its wake) on the run for their lives.

There are a lot of things going on here. We have Alana and Marko, Hazel's parents, who are both wanted fugitives due to their forbidden romance. We have a colorful cast of bounty hunters hired to bring the parents in dead and the infant alive. We have a city (possibly an entire planet?) devoted to sex trade. We have giant cats who can tell when someone is lying. We have humanoid monarchs with television sets for heads.

But, for all its innovation, this opening installment never really captivated. Marko and Alana's relationship never really felt real to me. They interact more like a couple of teenagers on a joyride than a couple who are deeply enough in love to have taken the risks they have taken to get to this point in their lives. And there is just a little too much general weirdness in everything else for my personal tastes.

This is the weirdest thing ever, but i absolutely loved it! Can't wait continuing with the series. Btw this is the first graphic novel i have ever read, so i must say that it starts out pretty well.

Obsessed. Love the MCs, the plot, and world building. The art is stunning and honestly I love when newborns are depicted as ugly AF bc it's TRUE.

I was kind of tired of hearing about this story from people on booktube ext.. but I finally gave it a chance when my friend offered to let me borrow it. And I loved it.

The humour was great and had me constantly laughing. The artwork is beautiful and I'm already sucked into the story and need to know more... On to the next! ...as soon as I get it.
