Unlike a lot of these ebook short stories Bones in her Pocket is the real deal and just what I expect from a Kathy Reichs book. In has an interesting case, enough twists and turns to keep you guessing and the unique writing style that makes Temperance Brennan my favorite fictional character of all times. Can't wait for August!!

A good little short story that fits well into the Brennan universe. Although, it's amazing how Tempe manages to get into danger even in a short story

I love the Reichs series starring Tempe Brennan and enjoyed this short story. When few bones turn up in a lake, Brennan must use all her forensic skills to solve the murder. What looks to be a simple case of ‘identify those bones’ turns into a much larger mystery. Am usually not a fan of short stories but found that Reichs does not lose any of the excitement in the story. Definitely a short story I would recommend and look forward to reading another of Reichs books xx

It's Brennan vs the puppy mills!
Bones are found on a property, yadda yadda yadda....this novella was written because Reichs wanted to educate her readers about endangered raptors such as owls, eagles, etc, and the unspeakable horror that are puppy mills (it's an educational twofer!). Brennan's life is only endangered once and since it's so short, we get to skip the usual dream sequence. I have no idea why this woman continues to think that it's a good idea to go & investigate on her own with no way to protect herself. Sheesh!
Still, it was a quick read & as enjoyable as her other books.
