This was a lot of fun! The stakes were low of course, but that’s to be expected when the story takes place between movies but I do always enjoy a good heist! I really loved the way Rebecca Roanhorse captured Poe’s “voice”. And Teza Nasz was a fantastic new character! Plus this book had a part where Poe gently tied Finn’s tie so how could I give it any less than 5 stars??

Thank you, Rebecca Roanhorse, for the scene of Poe tying Finn's tie, possibly the greatest scene in any Star Wars novelization.

I have no further comments.

Take aways from this book: 1) Everyone is attracted to Poe Dameron, including Maz Kanata. 2) Poe Dameron loves his hair. 3) Any character in Star Wars saying the word hope makes me cry just a little bit.

While I loved the book (and Poe Dameron), I just felt like it was doing damage control for the last movie. It filled in a lot of holes and tried to make if flow better from The Last Jedi, but I just wish the book didn't have to do that. Books and TV shows should be supplemental to the movies. They shouldn't have to explain why the movie actual makes sense because of some obscure thing we only find out about in a book released a month before the movie (or in Fortnite).

Rebecca Roanhorse did an exquisite job at writing this book. There were some truly devastating quotes in there. Five stars. Would recommend.

Resistance Reborn did a great job connecting TLJ with TROS and showing some of the events that occurred between movies. I found Roanhorse's writing style to be accessible and engaging, and I had no trouble being pulled into the book immediately. The main POVs come from Poe, Leia, Wedge, and a First Order officer whose name I have already erased from my memory—not because he wasn’t well written, it’s because I hate his guts. One of the most exciting things about this novel was the way that it connected the movies with the Extended Universe. I admit, my main motivation for starting this novel is because I heard that Ransolm Casterfo made an appearance and it was nice to finally get closure even though I needed more. Although I wasn’t familiar with most of the other EU characters who made an appearance, it makes me want to continue to explore the EU.

This is a dark time for the rebellion and Leia’s chapters are emotional, but I loved seeing from her perspective and watching her relationship with Rey develop. I don’t think Roanhorse managed to capture Rey’s character, but there was nothing that annoyed me about the portrayal either, so I didn’t mind. Poe’s character lacked the humor that I’m used to, but that mainly results from his character arc and him trying to find his place in leadership after the events of TLJ. Wedge’s POV was my favorite to read and I loved learning more about him and seeing his personality.

Resistance Reborn did a great job capturing the time right after TLJ and I really think there is potential to explore more of the rebellion during this time. I’d love to see more books like this one in the EU in the future as well as more Star Wars books by this author.

Pretty good Star Wars book - not my favorite, but does a good job following up on the events of The Last Jedi, and rebuilding the Resistance back into a force that can put up a fight against The Rise of Skywalker.

That was a very good follow-up to The Last Jedi. Explores a lot of the pieces that were left at the end. Some old and new faces are very welcome sights as well. One of the villains felt pretty transparent and existed mostly to show how EVIL the First Order is, but most of the rest of the cast was well-written.
