This was a very average read for me, which is to say I neither hated nor loved this book. I was intrigued by the premise of this story, but I found myself with a lack of connection to the characters and was a little disappointed in the development of the plot. This story follows several different characters which I didn't really like for this book or maybe just didn't like the way it was executed here. Stories written with multiple POV are really hit or miss for me. This one was a miss. As I would get invested in one character, I would be thrust upon the story of another (or more accurately several other characters). There was simply too much time between character shifts especially in the beginning of the story. By the time the author pulled me back to the first character I had forgotten who he was, what he was involved in as far as the plot goes, and why I should care about his place in this book. This was consistent for me throughout as I found that I had no connection to any of the characters and honestly didn't care what happened to them or how they were affected by the dilemma at hand. This book was more centered around character study than plot development, and for me without the connection to the characters I was underwhelmed by this work as a whole. I think I could have liked this story had I been invested with the characters.
