Why is it all those Windsor men seems like total losers who can’t realizes their feelings until it’s almost too late ?
Luca like Ares is a pathetic loser. As much as I liked him and his devotion, I didn’t have much respect when he used Valentina’s grandma’s sickness to marry her.
Otherwise they were cute and I can get behind a couple where the man is obsessed.
A bit too fast paced maybe, but at least it’s a fast and easy read.
I guess I just wished they had truly gone to Canada for some time before the grandma and everyone else pulled them back.

Nearly perfect. Long, but enjoyable from start to finish. The only thing I want it fault is for it the slight loss of character voice towards the end. It felt like every other line became a gush about love with nothing concrete around the rest of the scene but I suppose that's the reward at the end of this long story and I think other readers will love that payoff.

I liked it very much, but they fell in love a bit too fast bc they had a rule for not falling in love but they ignored it immediately, also she hurt him and he gave in to easily. But overall the book was good angsty, he fell harder type of book, would read again probably.

Holy freaking crap, I didn’t even know it was possible to love a fictional couple this much. But Luca and Valentina absolutely destroyed me, and then put me back together again! They were both such complex characters, and I absolutely loved watching them fall for each other despite what was supposed to be a marriage of convenience. Luca definitely has an alpha streak, and I loved how very protective he is of Valentina. And Valentina! I loved her sass and the fact that she wasn’t just beautiful, but intelligent and capable too. I highly recommend!!!

There must be crack or something in Maura’s books because I just loved them all. This was well worth the wait.

Luca, Luca, Luca. The grumpy man went through such a dramatic but necessary change. He knew what he wanted and it was Valentina. Even just that first taste of them together was enough for me to ship it. Their chemistry is off the charts. While he did some questionable things…it all kinda paid off in the end. His pov was just so entertaining. Definitely the “boy falls harder” trope here and I was living for it!! Seeing him want every part of her, all the good and bad was just beautiful.

Valentina!! She might just be my fav female character written by Maura. But Alana will always have a soft spot for me. When we finally saw her let her guard down…she felt so real with insecurities and uncertainty. She carries a heavy burden. One I related to especially well. Willing to do anything and everything to provide for those she loves. We saw her struggle with herself and her own demons and come out on top and how inspiring.

Valentina & Luca are definitely perfect for each other. I read the book in a couple of hours, unable to put it down. The Grandma always pisses me off and she did in the book even if we were meant to be okay with it at the end. I wasn’t. But our favs got their happily ever after and that made me happy.

The side characters!! Seeing some of my favs even just small glimpses of them!! Silas & Alana especially. I can’t wait to read about Dion and Faye because what’s going on there!!
