The ocean gets its saltiness from the tears of misunderstood sharks!

This book was a lot of fun, as jellyfish hosts a tv show for the people. Whenever shark seems to do something suspicious, like eating a seal, it turns out he's really misunderstood and was really helping instead! Shark facts sprinkled in too.

For: shark fans; readers looking for a book about misunderstandings with some facts thrown in.

Possible red flags: threats and impending doom.

This book was confusing. Although I liked the idea of fish having a news/tv station, I didn't understand the world. Shark seemed more like a bully trying to disguise his actions than a fish who was actually misunderstood - except for the part with the bandaids, that was the only part that seemed to be true misunderstanding.

Shark was a bit too obnoxious for my tastes, but I did love the rest of the characters.

This was hilarious! And I loved the subtle inclusion of some great facts about sharks and sea creatures also. Would pair well with The Bad Seed.

A humorous book packed with facts about sharks.

Overall, this was a good book. I liked the idea of a misunderstood shark who is just trying to be nice (it helps that sharks are my favorite animals even though I am absolutely terrified of them- irony, eh?). Each misunderstanding leads to an interesting shark fact, which is both fun and educational (yay, multitasking!).

I loved the illustrations. Very funny and engaging.

The writing was simple, but entertaining. I lost it at "I brought boo-boo strips". Hilarious!

The book ends how you might expect a shark book to end, which was realistic, but may be a little dark for some young readers. It is portrayed in a humorous way, but again, kind of dark so maybe not the best choice for sensitive children.

Overall, a good entertaining and educational picture book about sharks.

While on a TV show Shark tries to clear up the stereotype that he wants to eat every creature he meets.
