Val is one strong female, heck she teaches guys hand-to-hand combat. But underneath that tough mask is insecurity and doubt, not in her fighting skills but in her personal life. When she is threatened by an enraged vampire looking for revenge Aedan shows up. But this vampire hunter is not just a normal human. Dhampir are part vampire? This mythology is so interesting. These characters are more than the sum of their actions. We get a feel for them inside their pasts and upbringings. The telling of their story in interwoven with feelings and emotional trials. And some hot sexy times. Loved this exhilarating read.
