What a fantastic book.
It definitely gives off tragedy based on how the book ended,
but I enjoyed it all the same and am looking forward to getting my hands on the next volume. The characters seem so real, that is such amazing character writing, I'm so impressed by this author! :)

* I backed the third book on the publisher’s crowdfunding site, and since I hadn’t read the first two, I ordered them as well. *

My only real criticism of this book, and the series so far, is how I feel like we’re missing an opening chapter. Although I feel the information is being slowly, teasingly, doled out. Even the worst pornography (sorry, smut!) creates a moment that clearly sets up the scenario despite it being the parts many just fast-forward through.

All that said, I appreciate the sweetness of the characters and I enjoy the under-the-surface threat the Night Court seems to carry with it. I appreciate — as so many others have stated — how the youthful eternal creature, here, seems to desire someone older who would have a modicum of life experience rather than forever being stuck chasing after vapid teenagers. And the sex is fairly tame and while ever present, not overtly hardcore. (I guess that’s where it’s “smut” more than “porn”, if we’re defining things.)

Even while feeling like I don’t have a firm grasp on the world this takes place in, I do like what has been presented. It does feel developed and thought through, which is real highlight, but again it’s just slight and unclear in what’s come before.

It was something. Sweet, soft, what the fuck. At the same it, however, had no real plot, the characters remained nearly empty and had close to nothing that made them unique or to even slightly stand out. Still 3 stars due to the excellent portray of surroundings, characters, mood and literally everything via the drawings or such.
