Marguerite thought it would be a nice change of pace after 700 years as a homemaker to become a PI and help an immortal find his birth mother.

She didn't anticipate that someone would be out for her head, literally.

Julius Notte's son, Christian, wants to find the mother he's never known and his father refuses to talk about. Julius wants to protect his son and get to know the lovely Marguerite, his life mate. Now he just has to convince her of it.

It starts off with two mysteries here, who is trying to kill Marguerite and who is Christian's mother. Both lead us down a confusing path of who did what and who is who that can leave the mind boggled, but still interested. It all comes down to a conclusion that was meant to be and was 500 years in the making.

This has been my favorite Argeneau book so far. I have adored the main character. Margaret is far from the typical mom to me. She has no jealousy when her kids meet their lifemates, and actually plays matchmaker for them. This story had a huge unexpected plot twist in it, which is rare in a paranormal romance series. Lynsay Sands built up Margarets storyline for some time now, and she most definitely did not disappoint.

Time to take a break from this series. My God. What stupid characters.

Ok so after making fun of people who read vampire romances I've given in and tried one. This is like the 20th I've read in the last couple of months. I'll admit it. I'm now obsessed. I highly recommend the Argeneau series.

Yay it's Marguerite's turn! I absolutely love how she's had even a small tidbit of setting up each of her family with their lifemates. When the culprit is revealed I expected it but it was also kind of sad. I do love that she looks on this speed bump as a positive to be able to have all of her loved ones.

Nice to discover some of the back history of this couple, and to find them back together again. There was a bit too much farce included, but nevertheless I enjoyed the story.
