I enjoyed the “hunt” of this, but the motive was confused and the political leanings/affiliations of characters did nothing but distract from the plot, in my opinion. For example, one antagonist is capturing falcons in order to sell them to sheiks to fund “antifa” which serves nothing but a vague reason for his actions—he also happens to be a bloodthirsty monster. (Conservative leanings have similar no-impact plot points as well).
Perhaps more confusing is the sexual abuse suffered by one character, which is only briefly mentioned and never brought up again.
