book 6 in this series, every book different and could be read as a stand alone but if you read from the start you will be familiar with the wonderful characters that are throughout the books.

Eliza had just been fired from her job at the paper and blames the Prescott family for it so imagine her surprise when on her way to Sweetbriar cove to spend time with her family she stopped to help someone that had broken down to find out he was Cal Prescott, there was an instant attraction but also anger at him. Follow their ups and downs through this story

can't wait too read paige and Declan's story next

Eliza returns home to SweetBriar Cover after losing her job on her way back into town she stops to help a motorist that has a flat tire. Turns out the motorist is none other than her old boss, Cal who recently has taken over the management of the Boston Newspaper where she worked.

Cal is overwhelmed with his job duties and living up to his uncle's standards. He takes his godmother up on the use of her home in SweetBriar to rest and regroup.

It takes Cal a little while to figure out why Eliza is so perturbed at him. That just adds another level of aggravation to Eliza. Cal fired her and doesn't even know who she is.

The sparks really fly between these two right from the beginning I love the bantering these two have. There was some laugh out loud moments. The only downside to Eliza personality is that she very opionated and doesn't look at the bigger picture.

Eliza really struggled to see past Cal's social standing to see the real Cal. Cal doesn't help matters when she attends a social gala with him and she is treated no better than arm candy. I don't think he meant to treat her like this. I think he knew she was out of her element and he was trying to help but then on the other hand she can be pretty opinionated and talks first and thinks later.

He really is a very nice, upstanding guy, who is struggling himself with family duties. He's under a great deal of pressure trying to make every happy and make his parents proud.

These two have to make some tough decisions on future employment and relationships. What I really like about this book as you can visualize their individual struggles and I was very glad that they both took paths that made them happy.

Melody Grace is an author that has caught my attention a few times in the past, especially with her Beachwood Bay series. In fact, I’ve had the first Beachwood Bay book sitting on my Kindle for quite some time. For reasons mostly unknown (the known being I often find myself buried under books I need to review), I always found myself opting to read something other than the Beachwood Bay book that interested me. Thus, when I saw the chance to read No Ordinary Love, I was more than happy to finally get my introduction to Melody Grace.

No Ordinary Love is the sixth book in the Sweetbriar Cove series, but it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. There are details of side characters that clearly play off events in the prior books, references to couples whose stories have already played out earlier in the series, yet this does nothing to diminish the fun to be had with No Ordinary Love. Sure, I’m interested in reading the other books – however, this is not due to a lack of knowledge when reading No Ordinary Love, instead it is a reflection of how I now have a larger interest in reading Melody Grace books. There is no doubt I’ll be diving into the Beachwood Bay book sitting on my Kindle, and I’ll certainly need to download the other Sweetbriar Cove books so I can enjoy the way the characters build throughout this series.

From the start of this book, I was sucked into the story. It’s a simple one, a trope we see quite often, but there’s plenty throughout to keep you interested. It’s a short and sweet read, with plenty of emotions thrown in throughout. There is angst and drama, there are moments that leave a huge smile on your face, and lots of other goodies to be found. Everything that plays out is important, every detail sucks you in deeper. I loved the characters, I loved the way they played off each other, and I loved the way their story developed. It was a wonderful mix of dramatic and sweet, leaving me addicted throughout.

Not to mention, I found myself invested in the stories of the other characters. I loved the story that played out between our main characters, but the glimpses we were given of the side characters left me intrigued to find out more. The epilogue in particular has me super excited about the next book – a book I’ll certainly be grabbing. Not only do I wish to see more of the main characters I came to love so much in this book, but I’m also excited to see how the story between two of the side characters I really came to enjoy played out.

As my introduction to Melody Grace, this one has left me more than willing to pick up more.

Eliza and Cal met when she "helps" him, and his broken down vehicle, on the side of the road after discovering he is responsible for her losing her job. The attraction is there, but so is the reason to have nothing to do with one another.

But, it's a small town, and she works for his friend, and his family and hers are impossible to avoid. No matter how hard she tries to do so.

So, after meeting again and again, they see that there is a reason to stop denying that they are attracted to one another. Is this a challenge as he is, literally, the person who fired her? Yes, this does add a challenge. So, they have a first date, and some food poisoning. And, well, nothing creates a bond like being ill together. It lets you see the person for who they are, and it strips away the artifice.

What I enjoyed about this story is the characters. I liked Eliza, her family, and the secondary characters that were the friends on the town. I liked the fact that this is, essentially, a small town romance with big city elements.

This is my first title by this author. I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the next one I read.

I recommend this title.
