While I’ve come to be very attached to the Mortiz family, I found Lula not as engaging as a protagonist as Alex was in book 1. The front half of the story lagged but pace quickened in part 2.

Less than 1% of people who rated this book/audiobook gave it a one star rating. If I am going to be in the 1%, this isn't the 1% I want to be in. Yet here I am.
I gave this listen over two hours so I feel confident that this is just not the book I want to be spending time with at the moment. I found the story to be repetitive with very little to interest me and the unrepentant and self-absorbed behavior of Luna grating to my nerves. I really liked the first book in this series but at this stage I probably won't be back for more.
Thankfully, I am in the minority and most others enjoyed this tale.

Loved this sequel to Labyrinth Lost!
Lula is the narrator of this book, which was jarring at first (because I just loved Alex so much) but you will adjust quickly. This book starts fast and the pace is maintained through the book. I couldn’t put it down.
More magic, more sisters, more awesome. Read it. Buy as soon as you can!

OH MY GOSH THIS SEQUEL WAS JUST AMAZING. I have no words to describe it at all. Also, hellloooo where was Rhett in the first book? I totally needed him from the get go! Then again.... I couldn't choose between Nova and Rhett.... Ha.

okay as a proud hispanic woman, i love brujería and stories honoring the culture. this book started out really strong with giving me that. i know this is a YA novel and maybe that’s what holds me back from giving it a full 5 stars but i was kinda disappointed that it didn’t go darker because it totally could’ve. all in all, great story, love the representation, would definitely recommend this one and i do want to read the whole collection.

WELL I told myself I was only gonna read until 11pm and get a good nights rest but here I am instead at 1 am and the book is finished!!! I absolutely loved the first book, and after dnf-ing another book I was super excited to read a book I knew I’d enjoy. I was sucked right back in as soon as I picked it up, and I can’t wait to read the third book. This is an enthusiastic 5 stars from me!!!!

For some reason I liked this book much more than labyrinth lost. We follow the older sister, Lula, as she deals with trauma from being taken and imprisoned in Los Lagos, not able to move on from it her boyfriend decides to end things between them. Thing is, the day he decides this and she uses her magic to try and bring him back an accident occurs that kills and harms everyone in it, including him as he ends up in a coma. She is the only one to awaken and soon decides again that she can't lose him, causing her to go against La Muerte, lady death, and bring upon the city a horrible darkness only she can fix again.
I felt more of the tension in this book, and also thought it was interesting how we got a better glimpse of the world of the Brujas. Having an introduction to the Thorne Hill Alliance and the Lavant Knights. I also thought the link between the sisters was even more obvious and in your face which I loved, a truly good family relationship. And lastly, little Rose, holy shit her power is so cool.
